Days Of Our Lives actress and The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney may have just left the soap opera world behind her, but it looks like she is just starting to have the days of her life. The 37-year-old host and mom covers the October issue of Fitness magazine where she shows off her midriff and her toned abs.

The star, who has been pulling double duty as an actress and TV host, finished her role on the soap opera after 21 years, saying that she decided to leave in order to spend more time with her family.

"The show will always have a place in my heart, but I wanted to have more time with my family," the star explained in the magazine. "My kids are so happy now, and I'm no longer thinking about nine other things while I'm with them. Everyone in my life has commented on how much more relaxed and at ease I am."

The star also cites her job as the host of The Biggest Loser has been her main motivation to stay in shape, revealing to the mag how she keeps the pounds off.

"The contestants on Biggest Loser are a major inspiration for me. It's a huge reminder to [take] care of my body and to never take my health for granted."

She also says that while she indulges occasionally that the calories she is consuming have to be worth it.

"You'll never see me drinking on an airplane. Calories have to be worth it!" she explains. "If I'm going to indulge in wine, it had better be good — and that goes for food too. If I'm going to eat something, it needs to be delicious."

She also explains that the one thing she does indulge in is red wine.

I love it," she says. "I love it so much my husband actually built me a custom wine tap in our house. Best gift ever."

Sweeney also reveals what top tips about eating that she has learned from the show.

"That eating healthy doesn't require suffering," the star explained. "There's a tendency to think food has to be bland and boring for it to be good for you, but there are so many healthy ways to add flavor to your meals. We grill a lot, which gives food a wonderful smoky flavor. I put cinnamon on everything — my coffee, my oatmeal, my yogurt — and I keep a mini herb garden on my windowsill that I use to flavor all kinds of things."

The Biggest Loser is currently airing its new season, which premiered on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
