'The Mindy Project' Recap: 'We're A Couple Now, Haters!' Presents Office Drama And Danny's Most Amazing Secret

Romance is everywhere in the season three premiere of The Mindy Project and the whole office is in on it. "We're a Couple Now, Haters!" begins with Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) and Danny Castellano's (Chris Messina) growing romance, but the office might be a little too into it.

After Mindy and Danny both recall what lead up to the beginning of their relationship we discover that Danny gets turned on by some unique music. The two start to hookup as "More Than a Feeling" by Boston plays in the background and the intro credits begin.

At the office, the lines between work-appropriate talk and couple-specific conversations are blurred from the very beginning of the episode. Peter Prentice (Adam Pally) comes into Danny's office to ask for advice about how to give a woman an orgasm. The whole office knows that Danny is "good with his mouth" and Danny is mortified.

Before Danny can talk to Mindy about this invasion of privacy, Jeremy Reed (Ed Weeks) calls an office meeting. Jeremy and Lauren (Tracey Wigfield), who is Peter's new, sophisticated girlfriend, reveal that they are putting on a charity event for children who need dental care. The entire group freaks out in a funny way about having to participate in the event, but they end up agreeing to it.

After the meeting Danny confronts Mindy about telling the whole office about their sex life, but she doesn't see the problem. The two lovebirds are interrupted by Morgan's convict cousin Lou Tookers (played by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Rob McElhenney) before they can resolve anything. Lou's terrible pick up attempt and horrible face tattoo on his neck makes him even more hilarious to watch.

Later that day, Danny spots Lauren getting a shoulder rub by Jeremy. He tells Mindy a longwinded story about what he saw, which is his poor attempt at gossip, and Mindy appreciates every word of it. Before going to bed Mindy discovers a pink thong with the word "diamond" on it hidden in Danny's drawer. Danny freaks out and tells her he doesn't want to talk about it.

The next day at work Mindy tries to respect Danny's wishes and doesn't tell anyone about Danny's secret thong. She does however try to talk Peter out of buying Lauren expensive earrings but instead convinces him to buy her a tiara. As she is leaving Peter's office, he sees the thong and asks why she has a stripper thong with her.

Back in Mindy's office Morgan walks in on her searching the Internet for strippers who go by the name Diamond. Mindy can't hold in the secret anymore and tells Morgan that Danny had this thong in his drawer and that Jeremy gave Lauren a shoulder rub. Morgan poses another question... why does Danny have a male stripper thong? Mindy searches his name and sure enough Danny was a stripper named Diamond Dan in the past!

When the charity event finally comes around everyone knows that Jeremy and Lauren have been fooling around. Morgan's cousin Lou accidently tells Peter about it and when Peter confronts Lauren she reveals that she kissed Jeremy. Peter then punches Jeremy in the face while Tamra (Xosha Roquemore) films the whole thing.  Jeremy tells Peter that he wants to date Lauren so now they are both going to fight for the same woman.

At the same event, Danny and Mindy get into a fight about boundaries after Danny learns that Mindy told Morgan all of his secrets. Morgan and his cousin eventually convince Danny that trusting Mindy is what he needs to do and he goes to Mindy's place to apologize.

As Mindy sits out on her fire escape, Danny comes and pulls out a list of secrets to tell her. He starts to reveal some of his deepest secrets, including the fact that he used to carry a purse to school because his mom couldn't afford a backpack. Mindy returns the favor by telling him that she tells everyone about their romance because it makes it more real for her, which she really likes.

After the two make up Danny tells Mindy he has a surprise for her in the bedroom. All of a sudden, Danny starts doing his stripper routine to "American Woman." The entire routine is perfect and includes a strip tease that ends with a lap dance.
