Scandal Season 4 Spoilers: More Information on Portia de Rossi's Character

Fans of ABC's Scandal have known for quite some time that Arrested Development actress Portia de Rossi has a fairly significant role in Season 4 of the Shonda Rhimes series, but the details of the role remain largely under wraps. But Jeff Perry, who plays Cyrus on the show, has offered a tiny bit of information about the newcomer's character.

Perry spoke to the "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide and revealed the following details.

"Jeff Perry teases that de Rossi will figure "prominently" next season as a 'professional in politics,' and he will be part of her arc, as Fitz and Cyrus have a renewed focus on work. We still don't know her name yet, but might she be the 'Julia' in the first episode's title, 'Randy, Red, Superfreak and Julia'?"

E! Online posted two photos of De Rossi filming the show with a mystery man, whom the site says bears a striking resemblance to Mistresses and Teen Wolf actor Matthew Del Negro. You can view these photos at the top of the page.

Ellen Degeneres announced De Rossi's participation on the show via Twitter.

In other news, EW.com reports former Private Practice star Brian Benben will return to the so-called "Shondaland" for a guest-starring role on Scandal. Unsurprisingly, details on his role are nonexistent.
