According to Swedish House Mafia disc jockey Steve Angello, the electronic dance trio has nowhere else to go with their music, so it's time to just say goodbye.

Swedish House Mafia ranked third in Forbes' new highest paid DJ ranking in a group labeled as Electronic Cash Kings. Preceded by DJ Tiesto and Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia is said to earn an annual income of $14 million.

Even with this high honor, the three DJS of Swedish House Mafia announced to fans in June that they were preparing to disband. "We came, we raved, we loved," they wrote.

Even so, Angello and fellow ravers Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso are currently finishing out a successful world tour, having sold out New York City's Madison Square Garden this past winter. They plan on playing their final U.S. show in September at the iHeart Radio Festival in Las Vegas. They will return to their stomping grounds of Stockholm, Sweden to play a concluding hometown concert on November 24.

Angello told Rolling Stone, "We just decided that we reached a point where we don't know what the next move would be. We always like the challenge. And we don't like to repeat ourselves. We just felt like it was time."

But According to Angello there are no harsh feelings amongst the trio, and they still view each other as brothers. The guys are just ready to step back from what was once an underground talent that has now turned into a popular musical scene.

"After a while, it's starting to become the norm. You've got to shake things up a bit and then do things differently for people to respect what you actually do. I just don't wanna see music become fast food."

Maybe fans will see the return of Swedish House Mafia one day in the future, but for now it's time to turn to other house favorites such as deadmau5 or David Guetta (both also making the Forbes list).
