L.A. radio station Power 106 will play host to a celebrity basketball game this weekend as it partners with non-profit organization Homeboy Industries to help find jobs for gang members and get them off the streets.

It's a notable cause, for sure.

The problem?

The station has drafted rappers Chris Brown and The Game, both noted affiliates of the deadly Bloods gang, to its lineup of celebrity players.

Also on tap are the non-controversial Jason Derulo and Nick Cannon, among others, while Ariana Grande is listed as one of the day's musical performers.

As TMZ has pointed out, Brown was spotted throwing up gang signs the same night Suge Knight was shot at a pre-VMAs party, and The Game released a brand new album on Tuesday called "Blood Money."

For Brown, though, this may be just what the doctor - or the judge? - ordered.

The "Yeah 3X" singer is still on probation in his Rihanna assault case from 2009, so his proximity to the shooting, plus the fact that he was wearing a red bandana (the color affiliated with the Bloods) and throwing up gang signs, probably did little to dazzle the judge. So getting involved in this charitable sporting event could steer him back in the right direction.

Homeboy Industries offers a myriad of assistance programs to its L.A. community, including tattoo removal and case management, as well as legal, educational, mental health, substance abuse and domestic violence services. According to its Web site, the organization also "covers tuition and supply costs for Homeboy clients who wish to enroll in the Photovoltaic Training program at East Los Angeles Skills Center."
