Steven Soderbergh's Cinemax series The Knick starts the second half of its debut season this weekend with episode 6, entitled "Start Calling Me Dad." We've grown attached to the cast of characters, each with their own quirks, but mainly their own struggles. As the season nears its close, will we get to see more innovation or more turmoil and despair? Perhaps we should prepare for both? Take a look at some brand new preview videos and photos from this week's episode to get a hint at what is to come (SPOILERS to follow)

The description of this week's episode explains how Thackery and Bertie have a new procedure they want to test out. From the looks of the main image of this page (above) and the following photo of them about to cut into a pregnant woman, it looks like they're pretty excited about it. Last week's episode and the pilot showed similar procedures with pregnant women, so hopefully this time around they don't lose a patient! From the looks of the preview clip that we've shared below the image, it looks like they're on to something!

It also looks like we're checking in with Abigail again. Perhaps we'll learn some more about John's past?

Also, it looks like John is pretty steadfast about putting his name on a weird "elixir" that this salesman is pushing:

We knew it was only a matter of time before someone found Edwards' basement clinic, but were you expecting it to be Thackery? Check out a heated argument in the following preview clip:

Meanwhile ... that baby doesn't look right?

Sorry Gallinger and wife!

As usually, we have plenty to look forward to with this week's episode of The Knick. Let us know what you hope happens in "Start Calling Me Dad" in the comments section below!
