With the premiere of the CW series just a few weeks away, a new member joins the cast of The Flash series. A nostalgic blast from the past, actress Amanda Pays, who co-starred in the original DC Comics TV series as Dr. Tina Mcgee in the early '90s, will meet the new Barry Allen, now played by Grant Gustin.
We mentioned here, actor John Wesley Shipp joined the cast in the recurring role as Henry Allen, Barry's father. Comic books fans remember Shipp as the first live-action version of the scarlet speedster. In a tribute to the previous series, old school Flash will meet with new school Flash.
Entertainment Weekly reports the Max Headroom actress will reprise her role as Dr. McGee. In the previous CBS TV show, Tina is a scientific researcher for S.T.A.R. Labs, studying Barry (Shipp)'s newfound powers. Throughout the show, Barry and Tina's relationship hinted at an attraction towards each other, but they never acted upon those feelings.
In the upcoming CW show, Tina is back in the spotlight but this time around, as a rival employee of S.T.A.R. Labs. Will she be studying Barry (Gustin)'s super-speed powers for her own personal gain and future? Will there be a reunion between Shipp and Pays in an upcoming episode? We will most definitely tune in to find out.
