Former Anchorage reporter, Charlo Greene of KTVA decided to quit after her live report revealing that she was the founder of the Alaska Cannabis Club while dropping the F-bomb.
Sunday, Greene's report seemed like a normal package bringing awareness to legalizing marijuana in Alaska. After the package, Greene faced the viewers for a live shot revealing her secret before shocking her co-workers as she signed out saying, "Now everything you've heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska," she said. "And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f*** it, I quit."
Immediately after the broadcast, the network's director, Bert Rudman posted an apology on KTVA's Facebook's page:
"We apologize for the inappropriate language used by a KTVA reporter during her live presentation on the air tonight. The employee has been terminated."
According to the Dispatch-News Greene apologized for offending anyone but said that she just wanted to get her point across to raise awareness at the problem at hand, "Because I wanted to draw attention to this issue. And the issue is medical marijuana. Ballot Measure 2 is a way to make medical marijuana real ... most patients didn't know the state didn't set up the framework to get patients their medicine." She added, "If I offended anyone, I apologize, but I'm not sorry for the choice that I made."
