Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has made huge strides since stalling for years and losing leading actors. Last week Doctor Who star Matt Smith joined the already impressive cast and now just this week two Game of Thrones stars have signed on as well! The Lannisters are coming to the big screen adaptation of the Jane Austen parody about the undead. Lena Headey and Charles Dance have joined the Seth Grahame-Smith adaptation directed by Burr Steers. Jack Huston, Lily James, Bella Heathcote, Sam Riley, Douglas Booth, and Suki Waterhouse also star.
The roles for these stars have yet to be announced, though Dance could easily play Mr. Bennet considering his age. Meanwhile Headey could either play a sister of Elizabeth (James) or possibly either Lady Catherine de Bourgh or Charlotte Lucas.
The Hollywood Reporter has the plot synopsis for this new film:
The heroine, Liz Bennett (James), is pressured by her family to marry into a wealthy upper-class home and chafes at the stiff societal ways of 1800s England. Instead, she feels that she should help defend the countryside against the onslaught of a horrifying zombie plague.
This project has been in the works for a number of years, at one point having Natalie Portman attached to star. With the cast list continuing to grow quite well over the last few months, (especially with this week's announcements) it looks like it will finally be made!
