Taylor Swift Not Dead, Victim of Twitter Hoax

Just another typical day on Twitter, where someone sets up a bogus account pretending to be someone they are not and making claims that a famous celebrity has up and died.

That is just what happened when rumors started to fly on Monday that country crooner Taylor Swift, 22, had been found dead in her home. According to E! a fake Twitter account claiming to be associated with MTV News  issued a post reporting that Swift was found dead at her home over the weekend. But the story has been proven untrue, Swift is alive and well and probably spending some more quality time with her current beau Conor Kennedy.

Taylor Swift is not the first country star to be the victim of such a mean prank. Reba McEntire was said to have fallen to her death off of a mountain when filming in Austria. The "Queen of Country" had to talk her family down from hysterics after finding out the fake news, and McEntire met the joke with humor, posting a funny picture up online reclaiming her existence. Fabricated reports that Garth Brooks had been killed on a jet ski also spread quickly this past July, but the singer did not acknowledge the nasty rumor.

While the Taylor Swift death hoax trending has finally coming down from its high on Twitter, here's to hoping that such deceitful trending comes to a swift end.

On a lighter note, the rumors of a Swift-Kennedy romance are on full blast, with Swift getting the big thumbs up from the Kennedy clan, including the 83-year-old family matriarch Ethel Kennedy.
