About five years ago, James Franco famously went behind the scenes of NBC's Saturday Night Live and documented what exactly goes into putting together the weekly sketch show. Being the fact that he is who he is, the actor-director got some amazing access to the inner workings of SNL.
Franco's footage was that of a John Malkovich-hosted episode. And while it aired at a few film festivals the following year, the documentary sort of just went away afterwards, never to be seen again – until now.
Paste Magazine reports that the unaired documentary will be available online for Hulu Plus customers this coming Friday, Sept. 26.
Franco dropped word of the airing via Instagram along with a picture of him looking ... crazy? You tell us, he did have a shaved head and was screaming at the camera. Just saying.
Check out the photo below:
Alongside the picture was the caption: "THE SNL DOCUMENTARY is finally coming out!!! On HULU! This FRIDAY! Watch my documentary about the history of @nbcsnl "Saturday Night" on #hulu Plus: [link] #tizzlewizzl"
Franco also posted the note on Twitter:

Gotta hand it to the actor ... he always keeps it interesting. On another note, below is the aforementioned John Malkovich episode in question.
In other Saturday Night Live-related news, the show just dropped a promo for their upcoming premiere, which is this Saturday, Sept. 27, with host Chris Pratt and musical guest Ariana Grande.
