Devon Still made headlines earlier this month when he and the Cincinnati Bengals worked out a deal to donate all of the proceeds from his jersey sales to aid in the fight against children's cancer, following the news of his 4-year-old daughter's own cancer diagnosis.
Now, he's created a buzz once again with a touching video that shows him giving daughter Leah a pre-surgery pep talk this morning as she prepares to head to the hospital for the removal of a tumor.
"I'm gonna ask you again," he says to a smiling Leah behind him. "I'm ready for today. Are you ready for today? You ready to get this cancer up out of you? Let's do it! Fist bump."
Leah gives her dad a smile, a nod and a fist bump.
Cue the tears.
"I might be nervous and scared beyond words but I'll never let her see," Still captioned the video.
Thankfully, Devon and Leah seem to have the entire world behind them, ready to lend their support.
Devon's teammate Carlos Dunlap took to Twitter and Instagram this morning to share a photo and his own well-wishes for little Leah.
"Thinkin Bout the homie @man_of_still75 as lil Leah heads in to surgery," Dunlap said. "Pray that the Sugery goes better [than] any doctor could hav predicted or imagined and that she comes out CANCER FREE with that same smile she always has. #PrayForLeah #woManOfStill #BeatCancer #PrayersUp."
Today's surgery follows four rounds of chemotherapy for Leah. Doctors have given her a 50/50 chance of a full recovery from Stage 4 neuroblastoma.
