When George Clooney gets married he doesn't mess around. The A-lister previously announced that he would be getting married to Amal Alamuddin in a Venice ceremony in the next few days and it has been reported that because of Clooney and Alamuddin's star power that certain areas of the Italian city have been close down in order to maintain safety in the town.

According to Gossip Cop, certain walkways, including one facing the Grand Canal, will be closed for a 2-hour period on Monday, which is said to be when the pair's weddings will take place. All of these procedures have been put in place to keep some form of semblance and privacy, for the star-studded event. The main reason for the closure will to be in order to keep crowds from gathering outside of the ceremony.

The site is also reporting that the Associated Press stated that "police requested the closure to prevent crowds from gathering and creating a safety risk."

Their has been speculation for months regarding the wedding but today, as the officials made the call to shut down the canal on Monday for 2 hours, they pretty much confirm that the wedding will be taking place during that time.

It seems that everything is falling into place for the now confirmed Monday ceremony as PEOPLE is reporting that Amal flew into Milan, Italy with her mother today to prepare for the weekend ceremony leading up to the big day.

The news site also posted a picture of Alamuddin getting off the plane with a huge garment box in her hand. Could that possibly be the wedding dress?
