Will Rob Schneider have to go back to his gigolo ways? The Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo star was just dropped from a series of commercials he starred in for insurance company State Farm due to his anti-vaccine beliefs.
Schneider was playing his Saturday Night Live character "Richmeister" in the commercials, but after they started airing in August there was a huge uproar on social media.
Phil Supple, State Farm's director of public affairs, told PRWeek that the "ad has unintentionally been used as a platform for discussion unrelated to the products and services we provide."
"With that, we are working to remove the ad from our rotation at this time."
In a series of tweets, Schneider defended his views including a quote from George Washington in one:
"If the Freedom of Speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter," George Washington

Then thanking his supporters in another:
Thanks to all my supporters who believe as I do that parents should decide what's in the best interests of their child, not Gov't mandates. — Rob Schneider (@RobSchneider) September 25, 2014
Schneider is just the latest celebrity to voice their opinion against the use of vaccinations. Both talk show host Jenny McCarthy and reality star Kristin Cavallari have been heavily criticized in the past for voicing their anti-vaccine opinions.
The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik once weighed in on the issue to People Magazine. "We are a non-vaccinating family, but I make no claims about people's individual decisions. We based ours on research and discussions with our pediatrician, and we've been happy with that decision, but obviously there's a lot of controversy about it."
Was State Farm right in dropping Schneider or is this a case of political correctness run amok?
