Dan Snyder, the current owner of the NFL's Washington Redskins, has been lampooned on the Daily Show and South Park for keeping a racially charged mascot. To add further insult, Twitter was ablaze with photos of expired World Cup 2014 beer was being sold at the FedEx Field during the Redskins vs New York Giants game.
The FIFA World Cup 2014 soccer games began Thursday, June 13, and ran till Sunday, July 13. The Redskins played against the Giants on September 26, which is approximately about two and a half months after the World Cup ended. Someone had just one job to remove the stale beer and replace them with new ones, but supposedly forget to do that.
According to the Washington Post, a football fan received a World Cup-branded beer bottle at the stadium. Tom Robinson, @stonestom, snapped a picture with his cell and tweeted, "Fresh beer served here at Fed Ex @dcsportsbog."
After receiving a photo of the data code at the bottom of the bottle, the journalist then went on to the Budweiser web site and typed in the code on the "Track Your Bud" feature. The site responded back with the message, "Your Bud has passed its freshness date."
Twitter had more to say about the fiasco:
@AB_Dennis states, "Poor #Redskins fans, forced to watch the #NYGiants beat up on their team while drinking beer from #WorldCup2014 "
@gregbrown adds, "Lol Dan Snyder will always be the cheapest bastard in sports."
@eyarbroug mentions, "Now with reports of #DanSnyder selling expired beer at #FedExField the @Redskins make it really hard to support them. #redskinsforever"
Expired World Cup 2014 beer was being sold during the Redskins vs Giants game. Readers, what do you think of the stale beer?
