Vanessa Williams Engaged to Jim Skrip

Vanessa Williams made a big announcement today on The Queen Latifah Show. She's engaged to boyfriend Jim Skrip!

"I got engaged. I have had a lot of good things happen ... I turned 50 when we were in rehearsal on Broadway, I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. It has been a lot of blessings," the 50-year-old actress announced to host Queen Latifah after she commented on her enormous rock!

Latifah could not resist commented on the blinding new piece of jewelry that Williams was sporting.

"Vanessa, I have been trying to have a conversation with you ladies and gents, but I am blinded by the light coming from that bling ring on your finger," she said.

The first African-American crowned Miss America and twice-divorced mother of four has two daughters and a son with public relations consultant Ramon Hervey: Melanie, 31; Jillian, 25 and Devin, 21.

Her second marriage to NBA basketball player, Rick Fox lasted five years. The couple have one daughter together, Sasha, 14.

Currently the Ugly Betty actress is starring in the revival of The Trip to Bountiful, opening Friday in Los Angeles. The Broadway play has a cast of Cicely Tyson, Leon Addison Brown, Adepero Oduye and Tom Wopat.

As for her fiancé, who is he? Where did they meet? Williams told Philly.com, "He's a guy I met a year and a half ago when I was on vacation with my daughter in Egypt," she revealed. "You go across the world to find somebody who's six hours away ... He was in real estate and, back in the day, he was an accountant."

Essence magazine asked if Williams would ever marry again she stated that the first time she was married for 10 years the second for five years, "My career is always very active, so it's important to find someone who sees the importance of my career, the demands of my children and that's a lot of criteria right there and also the chemistry."

It seems like Skrip fits the bill.
