Based on the hit ABC TV show, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., an all-new comic book series continues the adventures of secret agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his super spy team. Marvel Comics presents a new sidekick for agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), named H.E.N.R.Y. in the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. #1.
As reported here, the comic will present more action-packed tales featuring Coulson and his peace-keeping force. Just as they do on the TV screen, the team will attempt to keep everyone safe from world-threatening dangers. But this time, there will be guest-appearances by Dr. Strange, Thing, and Storm joining in on the high-stakes adventures.
The official Marvel website has announced the new Simian team member. If you've watched the TV show, then you know Fitz has been asking for a monkey to help him make his top-secret gadgets. Fitz's wish finally comes through in an Artificial Intelligence operating system codenamed, H.E.N.R.Y.
Created by Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada, Fitz and his helper monkey will star in their own hilarious comic strip. Their laugh-out-loud shenanigans will be bonus content in the first three issues of the S.H.I.E.L.D. comic series. Their first segment is about Coulson coming back from the dead after the Avengers movie.
The question remains, will the comic follow closely to the TV show? Currently in the second season premiere, we saw Fitz slowly recovering from his near-death experience. How useful is Fitz to the team if he sees hallucinations of Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge)?
S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 will be available in stores this Dec. 31, New Year's Eve. Readers, what do you think of Fitz's helper monkey?
