Ben Affleck will portray Bruce Wayne in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, though Zack Snyder is currently filming the movie in Detroit. The actor is promoting his newest work, David Fincher's book adaptation Gone Girl, but he took a few moments to talk about the superhero sequel.
Affleck spoke to The Boston Globe, which asked Affleck if he was currently shooting Dawn of Justice. "I sure am," he replied. "Well, I'm not on the set right now. We're shooting nights and it's before work, but I'm in Detroit." This could connect to the recent set photos of the Batmobile. After all, Batman and darkness tend to go hand in hand.
The paper then asked him to offer some details on Batman v. Superman, but Affleck was pretty tight-lipped. "I can tell you that I'm very excited and it's very exciting. I can tell you that in my entire career, I haven't had so many people come up to me and say how much they're looking forward to the movie," Affleck said. "Naturally, that's a lot of pressure, but I love the script, I love the director, I love the studio. I'm very much looking forward to it, but it's two years away so it probably doesn't bear talking about anymore."
So it seems like reporters won't get too much out of Affleck as he continues to promote Gone Girl in the next several days. But what do you think of Affleck's remarks? Do you think his comments about shooting at night refer to the Batmobile scenes, or something else? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
