Last week on Dancing With the Stars actress Lea Thompson and her partner Artem Chigvintsev landed themselves the No. 1 spot on the leader board with their jive dance. The Switched at Birth actress is ready for tonight's movie themed dance and cannot wait to show off her dance ... an ode to her iconic film Back to the Future.

Since being in jeopardy in week one, Lea has gained more confidence in herself and her dancing abilities after week two's turnaround performance. She killed it in week two and rocked a leopard dress while doing so. "I'm definitely more comfortable. I'm really interested with the whole idea of, 'Control what you can control and let the rest of it go away,' the stuff that you can't do anything about," Lea told TV Guide.

This week, Lea is going to have fun for a different reason, she is playing tribute to her 1985 movie Back to the Future for the movie-themed night that airs tonight on ABC. The dance will be called "Back to the Cha-Cha."

"[Artem] wants to be Marty McFly. And I'm like, 'I will not be dancing the cha cha with my son. It's not happening. You have to be George McFly.' ... So, that's been a big bone of contention. He said, 'But you were in love with [your] son.' And I said, 'But my son wasn't in love with me, so ... ' (Laughs). So I've gotten him to be George McFly. And I wanted the song 'Power of Love' from the movie, so that's what we're going to do," she revealed to the publication.

The 53-year-old actress is really excited about getting back to her roots through the reality dance show. She originally got her start as ballet dancer who transitioned into film and now she is able to go back to her first love.

"I was broken hearted when I quit dancing and I didn't really dance again — not like this ... Personally for me it's really profound, because it's like revisiting my first love. There's a lot of joy and emotion that's coming out of it for me," she told Huffington Post.

Tune in tonight to see how "Back to the Cha-Cha" turns out.
