'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' Sequel IMAX & Netflix Release Date - 'Green Legend' Hits Theaters And Online Streaming Service Simultaneously Summer 2015

The highly anticipated sequel to the 2000 Ang Lee film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon will get a simultaneous release in IMAX theaters and on Netflix in the summer of 2015. Entitled Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, both the online streaming service and the high definition theater experience companies are happy to offer two great viewing options for this new adventure.

"Fans will have unprecedented choice in how they enjoy an amazing and memorable film that combines intense action and incredible beauty," said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a press release this week. "We are honored to be working with Harvey Weinstein and a world-class team of creators to bring this epic story to people all over the world and to partner with IMAX, a brand that represents the highest quality of immersive entertainment, in the distribution of this film."

The question is, will you be viewing the next chapter to the timeless epic at home or in an IMAX theater? Clearly both options are in high demand these days, with IMAX being a huge draw to get moviegoers out of the house. It's nice to see companies that most likely would compete against each other for viewers teaming up for a great new experience for the good of the consumers.
