Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith gave a couple of fans the surprise of a lifetime over the weekend when he unintentionally stumbled upon their wedding.
Smith, his wife Chanel and their infant son were headed up the escalator at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baltimore on Saturday, when the bride, Courtney — a self-proclaimed Ravens superfan — says she spotted him "the second I saw those big pearly whites."
Courtney flagged down the football family, and — because who says no to a bride on her wedding day? — they happily made their way back down to the lobby to chat with the nearly-newlyweds and snap a couple of photos with them.
"Wedding Crashers!!!! Congrats #Courtandphil," Smith captioned the group shot on Instagram.
The Smiths were dressed casually, with Chanel in all black and Torrey in sweats while he held onto the couple's 6-month-old son, Torrey Jeremiah.
"They were a super awesome couple, took the time to talk to us, and wish us both well," Courtney told TMZ.
Once the Smiths arrived back at their room, they realized that their digs overlooked the happy couple's wedding ceremony. So they took a bunch of selfies and posted them to Twitter and Instagram for the newlyweds to enjoy, accompanied by the official wedding hashtag, #courtandphil.
"Congrats Court and Phil (met these two in the lobby) #Courtandphil #creeperstatus #bestseatsinthehouse," Chanel wrote.
"They put the cherry on top to an already perfect day," Courtney said.
Smith and the Ravens hosted the Carolina Panthers the next day and won the game, 38-10. The wide receiver had two catches for 53 yards and touchdown.
Smith, himself, is somewhat of a newlywed. He and Chanel just celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in July of this year, three months after welcoming their first child: son TJ.
