While Beyoncé and Jay-Z are currently spending some quality vaca time with their daughter Blue Ivy at a $400,000/month home in the luxurious Hamptons, Forbes has announced that the R&B/hip-hop duo has topped the list for "The World's Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples." The "Crazy in Love" superstars make a supposed $78 million combined annual income.
According to Forbes, Beyoncé and Jay-Z made runner-up on the list last year, following model Gisele Bundchen and her NFL heartthrob hubby Tom Brady (the couples switch it up this year, with Bundchen/Brady coming in at second with a combined income of approximately $57 million).
According to Forbes, the success of both musical talents is what catapulted them to the forefront of this year's list. With Beyoncé's hit album "4" going platinum in the U.S., and the successes of her non-musical ventures and endorsement deals, her total earnings between May 2011-May 2012 add up to approximately $40 million. Jay-Z's collaboration with rapper Kanye West on the album "Watch the Throne," along with the subsequent tour, brought him in millions. Along with other non-musical enterprise earnings (he opened a nightclub and founded the Roc Nation record label), Jay-Z collected an annual $38 million. Therefore, the couple makes just below $80 million when their earnings are combined.
Other celebrity couples to make the list are: Soccer star David Beckham and fashion model Victoria Beckham ($54 million), acting power duo Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ($45 million), and superstar Will Smith with actress Jada Pinkett Smith ($40 million).
Jay-Z was recently ranked no. 2 on Forbes' "20 Richest Rappers Alive Today" list, while Beyoncé was named the "Most Beautiful Woman" by People Magazine earlier this year.
Looks like the R&B/Hip-hop King and Queen reign supreme.
