Tom Ford Debuts Fall 2015 Collection in Los Angeles During London Fashion Week

Designer, Tom Ford, announced in a statement to Fashionista that he will show his fall 2015 collection in Los Angeles for the first time and not in London, where he has been showing since February 2011. The show will take place on February 20, the first day of London Fashion Week.

Ford is known for keeping his runway shows and clothing line extremely exclusive. For a long time, he didn't even release photos of his collections and only used high profile celebrities as the models, such as Beyoncé. Most of us had never even heard of Tom Ford until Jay Z released a song with the designer's name as the title! Which is why we were pretty shocked to see Ford use normal models this season and live-stream his show for the first time.

Ford, who currently travels between Europe and L.A., where he and husband Richard Buckley have a home, said in a statement to The Independent that he and his husband have "always felt a deep-rooted connection to the city." He added, "So many visuals in our world are filtered through Los Angeles, including music, television and film, and in this way it influences global fashion in a profound way. Like fashion, film is also a creative endeavor that is extremely important to me. I am excited to bring these two aspects of my life together by presenting the collection in Los Angeles."

Ford also told WWD that he's relocating his show next season in order to be in town for the Oscars, because he likes to arrive a day or two early to do red carpet fittings on celebrities. The Oscars, which take place in L.A. on Feb. 22, fall right in the middle of London Fashion Week. Ford plans to return to London the following season.
