The Kansas City Royals are the surprise package in the MLB, and they're taking that form to the 2014 playoffs. In their Wild Card game against the Oakland Athletics, they were tipped to lose, but they found a way to come back and win their encounter. Now they will face the Los Angeles Angels, and they're confident they can go all the way and win the World Series, however, they're also hoping to make the city a crime-free zone, pleasing the police in the process. Can Eric Hosmer and the Royals make the city the happiest area on earth?
The KC Royals were spurred to victory, and the police couldn't be any happier. Before the game the KCPD tweeted saying, "We really need everyone to not commit crimes and drive safely right now. We'd like to hear the @Royals clinch this," and it seems their tweet worked as crime was a lot lower than usual. They later admitted, "We ran the last 4 Tuesdays and last night was the slowest night as far as calls to service." Could a World Series win give the area a much needed crime reduction?
Hosmer was a key reason the Royals are still in the playoffs and he insisted 'This will go down as the craziest game I've ever played. This team showed a lot of character. No one believed in us before the game. No one believed in us before the season.
Next up for the Royals will be the Angels, and many are expecting a tight battle, but yet again, the Royals are the underdogs. Can they surprise the world and win this series, and eventually the World Series? Who needs Batman when you've got the Kansas City Royals?
