Gap And GQ Launch Third Exclusive Limited-Edition Menswear Capsule Collection

Gap has collaborated with GQ Magazine to launch a capsule collection created by the winners of GQ's Best New Menswear Designers in America project, an annual roundup of up-and-coming design talent. Aside from being recognized by GQ Magazine and having their own spread, these new designers are given the opportunity to create an exclusive limited-edition GQ and Gap collection. Super cool! This marks Gap's third GQ Menswear Capsule Collection. This year's winners are M. Nii's John Moore, John Elliot + Co.'s  John Elliot, En Noir's Rob Garcia and Brooklyn Tailors' Daniel Lewis.

The collection includes a range of pieces from T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies, to sweatpants and denim. For more refined taste, there are sophisticated pieces such as tailored blazers and trousers. Outerwear includes leather jackets, field jackets and coats. Prices will range from $34.95 to as high as $400, (for a black leather hoodie.)

According to Los Angeles Times, the designers chosen this year are diverse and unique in their own way. "This year's group of Best New Menswear Designers in America represent the four tribes of modern American style today," said GQ creative director, Jim Moore.  "It is our most diverse group of designers to date, drawing influences from street culture, surf style, sartorial tradition and athletic wear with an edge. We are proud to be partnering once again with the Gap to bring these talented and inspiring designs to cities all over the world."

Gap's vice president of global menswear design, Tony Kretten, also released a statement. "This collaboration and what it offers to the Gap customer just gets better and better as we continue to work with new designers who have such passionate and unique points of view. This year we were able to capture the distinct style and specialty that each designer is known for while staying true to Gap's casual American style. We can't wait to share it with our customers around the globe."

The collection is available now, at select Gap stores worldwide as well as online at www.gap.com.
