More bad news for Anthony Wunder, the football streaker who ran during the Ohio State Buckeyes vs Cincinnati Bearcats game. After being body slammed by Ohio Sate coach Anthony Schlegel, the viral sensation is now about to lose his academic scholarship.
We mentioned here that Wunder ran across the field during mid-game. While the referees were calling for a time-out, the running man kept moving until he was spotted by the former NFL linebacker. Just when the Ohio State fan thought was going to bypass the coach, Schlegel laid the smackdown on him.
Not only was the crowd cheering for Schlegel, he was also idolized on Twitter, even receiving high praises from WWE superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the Ohio State student. Intoxicated at the time, the 21-year-old was booked into Franklin County jail, and then released after posting a $79 bail bond.
According to Yahoo Sports, the fourth-year engineering student is part of the Evans Scholars program, which provides tuition and housing. Because Under is facing charges of misdemeanor criminal trespassing, the program has revoked his scholarship and housing privileges.
In an interview with Columbus Dispatch, Wunder's attorney Mark Collins is looking into, but could not comment on, whether the tackle by Schelgel was too hard.
Collin states, "Those are things we're going to look at and issues we're going to address,"
