The movie adaptation of Navy Seal Chris Kyle's autobiography, American Sniper, has a limited release date set for Christmas 2014, but this week we got to see the first images of Bradley Cooper in the leading role. Also starring Sienna Miller as his wife, Taya Renae Kyle, we're looking at one of the most anticipated films of recent time right here! (The first trailer drops at the end of the week)
Cooper also serves as producer on the film, with Clint Eastwood directing. The actor shared the photos with USA Today this week and also sat down for a brief interview about the film.
For those of you unfamiliar with the author of the book, Kyle was known as the deadliest sniper in American history. The Navy Seal sadly died on February 2013 at a shooting range in Texas, when he was fatally shot. Cooper told USA Today this week that he got to talk to the man he's portraying in the film before his death.
"Thank God I got to talk to him once on the phone. It was a very quick conversation. But I did tell him how serious I was about making this movie," Cooper explained. "And he should just know that whatever fears he had about Hollywood, to just put them aside and trust me. That I was going to do everything I could to tell this story."
You can read the rest of the interview, learn more about the project, and check out the first photos of American Sniper right HERE!
Expect an update tomorrow with the first trailer for American Sniper!
