'Star Wars Rebels' Plot Details, Premiere Spoilers, Season 2 Confirmed - Disney XD Orders New Episodes For 2015 Ahead Of 'Spark Of Rebellion' Air Date

Just ahead of the 2014 premiere date of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion, the animated TV movie that precedes the first season of the Disney XD series, a season 2 renewal has been ordered by the network. This will give fans plenty more Star Wars Rebels episodes along with the rebooted film franchise!

"The global expectations for this series could not have been any higher," Gary Marsh, Disney Channels Worldwide President and CCO, said in a press release this week. "And I am proud to say that the team at Lucasfilm has delivered something that has surpassed even that incredibly high bar - artistically and thematically."

It looks like the creative team behind season one will be returning for season two as well. That means we'll probably get a lot of great teasers from Simon Kinberg for years to come!

"We all love making Rebels, so we couldn't be happier that it's moving into a second season," Lucasfilm VP of Creative Development, Kiri Hart, stated in the press release as well. "Our fantastic creative team is dreaming up new stories for the crew of the Ghost that will expand their experience of the galaxy and deepen their heroes' journeys. The fan response to the show has been amazing, humbling and inspiring. We're looking forward to the adventure ahead."

We'll have to tune in for season one, premiering this week, to see who makes it to next year's episodes!
