Mario Lopez must've wished the "bell" rang before walking down the aisle with his first wife, Ali Landry. In his new book Just Between Us, Mario drops a bombshell about his first marriage to the former Miss USA. The Extra host confesses his cheating ways led to the end of the marriage — which only lasted a month — in 2004. But he has changed his ways.
"Suffice it to say that (at my bachelor party) I got inebriated and a little too friendly with a young lady. When it was time to return home lightning hit me with the truth: I wasn't in love," he writes. "But I walked down the aisle and said, 'I do.' In my heart, I was screaming, 'I do not, What am I doing?' I finally got the courage to say, 'I'm sorry. I can't be in this marriage. It's not right for either of us.' She was hurt and angry, rightfully so."
The former Saved by the Bell actor also shocks fans in the book by admitting he lost his virginity at 12!
In the book, he writes, "It was around age 12 that I became a bit of a natural with girls — maybe a little too natural. When it's the day before your 13th birthday and you are alone with a sweet young beauty, letting nature take its course is not always advisable."
Mario goes on to write that he was young and inexperienced and didn't even use a condom. Lucky for him, he has grown up and learned from his mistakes.
In an interview on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show he gives advice on how he is able to make his current marriage work.
"I really don't think people change. I think they are who they are, but I think you grow up and stuff sorta gets redundant and I also don't think it's about meeting the right person," he said. "Everyone says it's about meeting the right person. It's really — as corny as it sounds — it's really about the timing in your life."
He is now married to actress Courtney Mazza, with whom he has two children, Gia and Dominic.
