Jason Kennedy And Lauren Scruggs Open Up About Their Upcoming Wedding And New House

E! correspondent Jason Kennedy and his fiancée Lauren Scruggs are getting ready to walk down the aisle, but first they are taking a pre-wedding getaway together. The couple, who started dating after Jason interviewed Lauren for E! News, cannot wait to say "I do" and finally live in the same house.

"I just moved into a house that Lauren and I bought together," Jason told People. "But she's not moving in until after we get married. It's a big deal ... it's our first house that we're buying together, and that's really exciting."

After moving everything into their new home, the couple decided they needed a break from the real world, so they escaped to the Riviera Maya's Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita with Lauren's twin sister and her husband.

"We're putting furniture in there and juggling deciding on wedding songs and all that, so we decided to do a little intimate getaway, a pre-honeymoon, if you will," Jason revealed to the publication. "It was the perfect decompression before things get really crazy for us."

The happy couple got engaged in May at Lauren's apartment in Dallas, Texas. "I walk in and my apartment is full of tulips, this little like path to the patio," Lauren told the Today show. "He was outside in the grass, and there were just candles, spelling out 'Will you marry me?' And he was like, 'Will you come down here? I want to ask you a question.' I was just seriously shocked."

Lauren is a former model and fashion blogger who lost her left hand and eye in a freak airplane accident in 2011. After her accident she thought no one would ever be attracted to her, but Jason feel in love with her because of her story. "I was just so moved by her story, and I thought she was hot too, so that's always an added benefit," the 32-year-old TV correspondent told Today.

Wedding planning is well underway and Lauren is already ready for the big day. "We're just excited and ready for it to be here. But I'm most excited about actually living in one place, because the transition has been kind of frustrating," Lauren told People about the long distance relationship the duo has in for the past couple of years. "I'm just looking forward to being settled together," Lauren added.
