Kate Winslet Admits She Never Snogged ‘Titanic’ Costar Leonardo DiCaprio

Kate Winslet is Marie Claire UK's November cover girl and she looks beautiful on the cover. The 38-year-old actress is finally opening up about any romance that might have gone on between her and her Titanic costar Leonardo DiCaprio.

It's been more than 16 years since The Reader actress appeared in Titanic with the gorgeous Leonardo, but women everywhere still can't forget their chemistry. But was any of it real or was it all for the film?

"I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing," Kate revealed during her Marie Claire UK interview. In the 1997 film, Kate played Rose and Leonardo played her onscreen love, Jack. Onscreen the duo were madly in love, but off-screen they were just friends.

"It's so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually we never did," Kate told the publication. "He always saw me as one of the boys. I've never really been a girly-girl."

Even though they never kissed off-screen, the two are great friends to this day. After their film reunion in 2008 on Revolutionary Road, Leo was again Kate's leading man in 2012 when he walked her down the aisle at her wedding. According to Us Weekly, the 39-year-old actor walked Kate down the aisle and gave her away when she married Ned Rocknroll.

"She's the greatest person. She's so genuine. I love that girl," Leo told USA Today about his longtime friend and costar in December.

Kate also opened up about Hollywood diets and how absurd they are. "Whenever I go to L.A. the make-up artist of hairdresser will end up having a conversation about how fat they think they are and I really just can't take it seriously at all," she told Marie Claire UK.

"I'm just like, 'Yeah, you're right, you look gigantic, you need to lay off those boiled bits of chicken you've been eating because have you seen your arse?' and they're the size of a blinking pin. I'm no stranger to the occasional dodgy juice, but it doesn't taste very nice and it is bloody boring. It's not a way to live," she added.
