'Interstellar' Movie Plot Details, Release Date 2014: Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Available In Select Theater For Christopher Nolan's Sci-Fi Epic

Even though Christopher Nolan's 2014 sci-fi epic Interstellar has a lot to offer, including a three-day early IMAX release and possibly being the best film of the year, we have yet another great surprise for you this week! According to new reports, the virtual reality company Oculus Rift will provide the Interstellar experience at select theaters. The Nov. release date for this movie can't get here soon enough!

One of the greatest advances in gaming has already been making a mark in the film world, as we saw earlier this year at San Diego Comic-Con. Fans of the film Pacific Rim got the chance to get inside one of the movie's fighting machines. Now we can do the same with Interstellar.

According to the official website for Interstellar, you can take part in this emersive new experience at the following movie theaters:

•  New York - AMC Lincoln Square 13 - October 6-8
•  Houston - AMC Gulf Pointe 30 - October 17-19
•  Los Angeles - AMC Universal Citywalk 19 - October 25-27
•  Washington DC - Smithsonian - November 5-December 6

"For the first time ever, the virtual world of filmmakers Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated new film will be available to the public in select AMC Theatre locations featuring IMAX screens," the official announcement about this new experience stated. "People can sit down, strap in, and immerse themselves as they travel through the 'Endurance' spacecraft in zero gravity through a custom Interstellar Oculus Rift Experience."
