Could this week get any better for Ryan Murphy? The TV creator and producer is about to debut the new season of American Horror Story: Freak Show, but he has even bigger news. Ryan and his husband, David Miller, have just added a second baby boy to their family via surrogate. The couple welcomed baby Logan Phineas to the family on Christmas Eve in 2012 also by surrogate.
"His name is Ford. I brought him home today from the hospital and Logan gave him kind of a side eye," Murphy explains of his firstborn son. "For 21 months, Logan has been the light of my life and now there are two."
"It was an amazing birth," the Glee creator continued, explaining to E! News during the premiere of American Horror Story in Hollywood. "37 weeks and a day and he was a chunker, 7 lbs. 13 oz. David and I were there and puled him out and cut the cord and cried and it was pretty amazing. And now look at me I'm crying again."
"It's amazing to be two dads and we have a wonderful surrogate," Murphy explained. "It's so uplifting and I've enjoyed sharing our story with young gay families."
The proud papa also told Us Weekly that he couldn't be happier about the addition to his family.
"I'm so excited," he explained. "He was born on Friday [and] he came home today, so we did it, you know!"
Ryan and David got married back in 2012 in Provincetown, MA and Murphy's friend and Glee co-star Lea Michele explained to Vogue back in 2012 how Ryan had changed since becoming a family man.
"Since being with David, Ryan has just opened his heart up to love so much," the actress explained. "In the past few months, I have seen such a joy and excitement in Ryan. And I just know that deep down they are going to be the most incredible parents. I am incredibly jealous that I am not their daughter. Because the Murphy household would be my dream."
Congrats to Ryan and David!
