Just when you thought that the Central Perk pop-up coffee house couldn't get any cooler, this happened. Over the weekend Colbie Caillat took to the New York City store to perform a rendition of Lisa Kudrow's Friends character Phoebe Buffay's song "Smelly Cat," during her open mic set. Lucky for us a fan caught the whole experience on tape and uploaded it to YouTube.
E! News reports that the star got up to mic dressed in a flowy white top with jeans, boots and a scarf and she treated the Friends fans to the song, asking them to help her out by sing along with her.
The whole place bursts out into a rendition of "Smelly Cat," singing, "Smelly cat, smelly cat what are they feeding you? Smelly cat, smelly cat it's not your fault."
Caillat then took to her Twitter after the performance to describe how awesome the experience was.
"That was COOL! Singin @#CentralPerk, Sittin on the actual couch" the star posted. "My favorite show ever #Friends20."
Colbie thanked everyone in the audience for singing along with her before treating them to another song.
For all the fans of the 1990's series who haven't made it out to the pop-up shop, you only have a few days left to sit on the big orange couch as the doors will be closing on October 18.
As we previously reported, during it's one month run the shop will be giving away free coffee as well as having giveaways, trivia events, and different contests throughout the stores opening. Also fans can get their merchandise fix, as the shop will also be selling Friends memorabilia.
The idea for the store is a partnership between Warner Bros. Television Group, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Eight O'Clock Coffee, who are recreating an exact replica of the coffee shop in downtown Manhattan.
The store will be located at 199 Lafayette Street in Manhattan from September 17 to October 18.
