It would have been the best reunion in history if it actually happened. The Spice Girls were set to have a reunion on this past weekend's episode of The X-Factor UK as they were supposed to join judge Mel B on the singing competition to help her pick her final 3 acts for the series.
According to The Mirror, three out of the four other Spice Girls were up for the idea but when Victoria Beckham was unable to make the commitment, the producers decided to cancel the reunion altogether.
The UK X-Factor headed to Mexico where the final three acts for each team were to be picked. Without all five of the Spice Girls making the commitment, the producers of the show said the reunion was a no go. It seemed that former band member Victoria, was too busy to make the time for the reality series, as she is opening a new store in London and also serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN.
"Once Victoria had politely declined, there was no way the rest of the Spices were going to be flown out there," a source revealed to the site.
However, viewers did get to see a mini spice reunion as Emma Bunton was flown down to Cancun to help her bestie decide on her top 3 acts.
"Emma was obviously keen, as was Geri [Halliwell], who has history with the show having been a guest judge and even in the running for the last seat on the panel," the insider explains of the two stars.
However, the producers had set in place an "all or just one" rule saying that if not all the Spice Girls could come that only one would be flown down, and it ended up being Emma.
Beckham has been the most reluctant Spice Girl when it comes to reunion. The last time that all the girls performed together was in 2012 at the London Summer Olympics.
