Adrian Peterson's week will go from bad to worse when the football player is arraigned Wednesday on charges of child abuse. According to ESPN, the Minnesota Vikings player will plead not guilty tomorrow, which all-but solidifies the fact that he won't play in the 2014 season.
"If the court asks for a plea tomorrow [and we do expect that to happen], it will very definitely be NOT guilty," Mary Flood, a spokesperson for Adrian's attorney Rusty Hardin, wrote in an email. "We hope that a trial date is also discussed but don't yet know how the court's docket is looking."
The star running back is pleading not guilty to charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child. The abuse in question took place earlier this year when he disciplined his four-year-old son by hitting him with a switch at his home in Texas.
Last month, the NFL veteran denied trying to injure his son saying he only wanted to teach him a lesson. "I never ever intended to harm my son. I will say the same thing once I have my day in court," he said in a statement.
Adrian is still on the Exempt/Commissioner's Permission List, which means the Vikings have to pay his $691,176 weekly salary until his case is decided.
If convicted, he could get six months to two years in prison. Not only that, but because of the NFL's new domestic violence policy he can be suspended from playing football for up to six weeks.
This has so far been an awful week for the footballer who was the subject of a lengthy article in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune accusing him of misappropriating funds from his All Day Foundation including using some of it to pay for an orgy. He went on Twitter to respond to the allegations:
It's SAD how people these days will believe anything reported by media sources that don't take the time to be GREAT!!!

Do you believe him or is he guilty in your mind?
