Myst, one of the most iconic computer games of all time, is set to hit the small screen in the near future thanks to a partnership between developers Cyan Worlds and production studio Legendary. This eerie computer game has spawn numerous gaming sequels and a series of novels, but now we'll be able to continue the journey with a new TV show.
Fans of the computer game will remember fondly (and possibly anxiously) just how engrossing the play was, so clearly adapting it into a TV series will at least be fun to think about! According to Deadline, the company's partnership with the film and TV studio means "finally being able to express in a visual linear medium the rich story that the Myst franchise is dripping with."
"Cyan's goal in working with Legendary is not just to create a compelling TV drama but to develop a true transmedia product that will include a companion video game that extends the story across both media," Cyan Worlds said in a statement. "Seventy percent of tablet owners use their device while watching TV at least several times a week. Cyan sees the potential to push the boundaries of interactive storytelling to a new level."
How do you think tablets will play into this new series?
