Amy Reimann may be dating one of the most talented drivers in NASCAR history – Dale Earnhardt, Jr. – but when it comes to her own upcoming race this Thursday, she's still a bit on edge.
"She is REALLY nervous, Earnhardt Jr. told Fox Sports. "She is happy to be involved in it because of the cause, and to be able to do something good makes her feel good."
Reimann and nine other NASCAR drivers' wives and girlfriends are set to face off at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the fourth annual Better Half Dash race for charity.

The winner of the 25-lap race will be gifted a prize of $10,000 - $5,00 of which is guaranteed to be split among Speedway Children's Charities and Motor Racing Outreach, and the other $5,000 of which will go to the charity or charities of the winner's choice.
"I'm about as green as it gets, so I need a little bit of practice, but I hope we're competitive and I hope we get the trophy," Reimann told Fox Sports last month when this year's participants were announced. "Dale talked me into it. It was offered to me by Kelley [Earnhardt Miller, Junior's sister]. And I didn't really know what the Better Half Dash was, to be honest. I mentioned it to Dale and he said, 'Yeah, you've got to do it. You've got to do it. It's going to be so much fun.'"
Although Earnhardt Jr. has been unable to attend any of Reimann's practice runs, he's ready to cheer her on come race day.
"I think it's a good experience for her. She is having fun with it," he said. "I just told her just, 'Enjoy it and don't put a lot of pressure on yourself. You're not a race car driver –– just go out there and have fun.'"
