S. Korean Rapper Psy Coming to the US, Meeting Confirmed with Justin Bieber's Manager

Overnight international sensation and veteran South Korean rapper Psy confirmed that he will be meeting Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun in the US next week.

Psy cannot believe that he is receiving international recognition and that his Gangnam Style video has been covered by US media including Wall Street Journal, CNN, Huffington Post and more.

He never expected that his song would become insanely popular in the US and worldwide.

He said to the Journal, "No, I didn't expect it at all. Of course every time I write a song, I hope people like my music. But since I've been always a singer for the local market, it never occurred to me that people outside the country would listen to my music. I didn't even have overseas fans. When I wrote the song, I had only one thing in mind - to create a fun song."

He jokingly insisted that perhaps his "unconventionally handsome" look may have attributed to Gangnam Style music video's success.

He even compared his image inside of the video to Brad Pitting singing the song, adding that he wanted to give the song a twist. His goal was to create a fun summer song.

Psy also humbly attributes his success to the foundation laid by Kpop singers who have been trying to break through the international market.

When asked about how the funny dance moves came about, Psy explained his moves developed out of having fun, and not from serious meetings.

Psy is a passionate musician and has graduated with a degree nearly 20 years ago at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He is considered a long time artist in his home country South Korea, however is just starting to be recognized in the US.
