The Kansas City Royals battle the Baltimore Orioles in Game 1 of the ALCS (American League Championship Series) on Friday, October 10th at 8:07 p.m. EST at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Maryland. Baltimore recently defeated the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS, while the Royals proved victorious over the LA Dodgers.

Wrapping-up the 2014 season, the Royals snagged the No. 9 spot in ESPN.com's official MLB power rankings with a 89-73 winning record: 

"They're in the playoffs for the first time since 1985, although they did fall one win short of tying the Tigers for the AL Central title. Somehow, they did this despite finishing last in the AL in home runs and walks. Meanwhile, the Orioles rounded-out the no. 4 spot with a 96-66 winning record (out of 30 teams):

The San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals will face-off in the NLCS starting Saturday (October 11th). The overall winning teams of both series will officially move-on the this year's World Series.
