'Boardwalk Empire' Season 5 [Spoilers]: Will Steve Buscemi's Nucky Thompson Become 'Devil You Know?' [WATCH]

As the period/gangster drama Boardwalk Empire closes its last chapter on HBO for season 5, the countdown has already begun for the series finale. As Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza) continues to strike back against his enemies, will Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) become the "Devil You Know" if he wants to survive this turf war?

In our recent recap, we saw Chalky White (Michael K. Williams) sitting quietly in Nucky's private quarters. Though Nucky hides his fugitive friend from the police, Chalky has only one thing on his mind. With a loaded gun in his hand, Chalky entered one of the brothels that belongs to Dr. Valentin Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright).

As we previously mentioned, Chalky's daughter was unfortunately caught in the crossfire in the fourth season finale. Wanting revenge against Dr. Narcisse has been the only thing on Chalky's mind, especially when he was locked up as a prisoner. But when his trigger finger was ready to pull, Chalk backed down when he suddenly saw his former love, Daughter Maitland (Margot Bingham) in Narcisse's brothel.

Has Chalky's revenge plan suddenly become a rescue mission?

As we previously mentioned, this is the end of Prohibition, as well as the end of Al Capone (Stephen Graham)'s crime wave. From history textbooks, we know Capone will be put away for tax evasion. History says Eliot Ness singlehandedly brought down the infamous Chicago mob boss.

In this alternate take on history and legend, Nelson Van Alden (Michael Shannon) and Eli Thompson (Shea Whigham) have been coerced by the FBI to steal Capone's ledgers. But history says they will fail in their mission. Are their fates sealed because of what has already been written?
