Channing Tatum is gearing up for Magic Mike XXL, which will be full of stripper moves just like the original, Magic Mike, but this time around he has one more opinion to consider when choreographing his strip teases. Channing's wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, is a dancer as well, so it makes sense that her opinions be included.
The 21 Jump Street star revealed that he looks to Jenna for approval on all moves before filming. "Our two choreographers on the movie, they're really, really good friends [with Jenna]. So I work it out with them and then I go show Jenna for approval," Channing told People during his press conference for the animated film The Book of Life.
The couple actually met on the film Step Up in 2006, which they both dance in, so they are both used to seeing the other dance for the camera. Despite the fact that Magic Mike is about strippers, Jenna is completely supportive and doesn't mind watching her husband strip down on screen.
"If I was just doing some movie about stripper, then she'd probably be like, 'Why do you want to do that?' But it started off as a story that I really love, and it's grown into something that I love even more because it's a weird world that I experienced in my real life," the 22 Jump Street actor told the publication.
"She actually loves Magic Mike, believe it or not. It's an interesting thing that actors what to deal with. We're 10 years into it now, so it's kind of old hat-we've moved past it," he added.
Both Jenna and Channing have been acting for years, and they mesh well as a couple. In July 2009 they tied the knot in a Malibu ceremony. Then, in May 2013 they welcomed their first child, Everly Tatum, to the world. Channing is currently promoting his new animated film The Book of Life, while Jenna is filming the second season of Witches of East End.
Jenna even takes their daughter to set with her in Vancouver. "She's been in there since forever. She walks into the hair and makeup trailer like she owns it. My trailer is no longer mine. It says Everly on it," Jenna told Us Weekly, in May right before her daughter turned one-year-old.
