The cap lost them Ignila in free agency and Boychuk via trade. The second is the age of their captain. Zdeno Chara is their captain and a freak of nature, but even age catches-up with freaks."

Meanwhile, the Flyers currently hold the No. 12 spot (out of 30 total teams):

"The Avalanche lost Paul Stastny in free agency to the Blues - they brought in Jarome Iginla. In my mind, that is not an even trade-off. Is the defense of the Avs really that good? Can Semyon Varlamov continue to play at such a high level?"

The Bruins currently hold a 3-1-2 record - as for the Avalanche, 2-0-2.
