MStars News has learned that the death of Skye McCole Bartusiak was from an accidental drug overdose.
Bartusiak was the child star in the 2000 film, The Patriot, starring alongside Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences stated, "The exact cause of death is an accident due to the combined effects of hydrocodone and difluoroethane with carisoprodol."
Hydrocodone is a form of sleep inducing pain killer, as carisoprodol is a muscle relaxer and difluroethane, in other-words, "ethylidene fluoride" is an inhalant that can be found in your home, in which people use to get high on, commonly known as "huffing."
MStars News previously reported that the 21-year-old was found dead in her Texas home back in July. Skye's boyfriend was the person who found her dead.
Bartusiak's brother in the hit film, Heath Ledger, also passed away from a drug prescription overdose back in 2008.
The Patriot star's parents believed that their daughter had died from an apparent seizure and choked to death.
"I've done CPR on that kid more than one time, and it just didn't work this time," Helen, Bartusiak's mother, said in a previous interview.
Helen added, about her daughter, "She was a kind and really beautiful girl," she continued. "This girl has lived such an amazing life."
Other than starring in The Patriot, Bartusiak also appeared on network television shows including House, 24 and Lost.
