Cosmopolitan Magazine will soon have its very own show on NBC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it just inked a deal for a scripted show that's loosely based on life at Cosmo, with Editor-in-Chief Joanna Coles as an executive producer.

According to Fashionista, Cosmopolitan's website and social media present it as an "extravaganza of kittens, hot dudes, and delicious treats on a daily basis, while its staff produces a constant stream of content on the topics of politics, fashion, beauty, celebrity and, most prominently, sex."

The script for the comedy will be written by The Bachelorette writer and director, Leslye Headland, and will follow the life of a former political blogger who gets a new gig as the sex editor for a provocative women's magazine. The single-camera comedy will have a similar feel to shows like VEEP, 30 Rock and Ab Fab, and while there will be no real Cosmo staffers featured on the show, viewers can expect story lines and characters based on what really goes on at the magazine.

"Cosmo was a must read for me growing up," Headland said. "Under Joanna's influence, the magazine embodies topics for every modern female, which makes this a perfect union."

Coles said that Headland has been "quietly embedding at Cosmo" as part of her research for the project and even attended New York Fashion Week. "Be prepared for life at a women's magazine, but not as you know it," she said.

In addition to Coles's role as executive producer, the magazine's Director of Strategy & Communication, Holly Whidden, signed on as a producer as well. The show's other executive producers include Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad.

No word yet as to when the upcoming show will air, but we certainly can't wait to tune in!
