The Baltimore Orioles battle the Kansas City Royals in pivotal Game 4 of the ALCS (American League Championship Series) on Wednesday, October 15th at 4:07 p.m. EST at Ewing M. Kaufmann Stadium in Missouri. The Royals currently lead the series 3-0. If the Orioles do not secure a win this afternoon, Kansas City will officially move-on to the 2014 World Series.

Baltimore recently defeated the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS, while the Royals proved victorious over the LA Dodgers. Now, Kansas City leads the ALCS 2-0.

Wrapping-up the 2014 season, the Royals snagged the No. 9 spot in ESPN.com's official MLB power rankings with a 89-73 winning record:

"They're in the playoffs for the first time since 1985, although they did fall one win short of tying the Tigers for the AL Central title. Somehow, they did this despite finishing last in the AL in home runs and walks. Meanwhile, the Orioles rounded-out the no. 4 spot with a 96-66 winning record (out of 30 teams):

The San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals are also competing in the NLCS - the Giants currently lead that series 2-1 and will play Game 4 later his evening.
