Hollywood Divas star Paula Jai White is opening up about the struggles of finding work after once being homeless. In a new interview with Madame Noire, the former Friday star claims the new TV One reality show was the only gig she could pick up, and is therefore thankful and no longer looking back.

"I decided to do reality TV, because reality TV wanted me," she said, adding, "And pretty much not too many people in Hollywood ... wanted me, so reality TV came from Atlanta and snatched me out of the dust and shook me off, and shined me clean and threw me on TV."

The once homeless star claims the new show, "Helped me get a home for my family, a car to drive, and I'm thankful, and I haven't looked back since."

White was joined by two of her other castmates, Lisa Wu and Countess Vaughn, who also shared why they decided to join the new reality show.

"For me returning back to reality television, I got used to being ... having my privacy," Lisa Wu said, adding, "When the show presented itself, it makes sense, because a lot of people didn't know that I started out writing and producing."

Wu says, "It's the perfect opportunity for everybody to know what my background is."

As for The Parkers star, Countess says, "Me, I basically checked out of Hollywood, and in order for my audience to know what was going on with me, you know do a show so they could play catch-up, and know what Countess is up to."

Paula claims acting is a "gipsy" lifestyle. She says she and her "husband and I have been living the gipsy lifestyle since we've been married."

She explained how she became homeless: "Before I was married, I was living the gipsy lifestyle on my own."

But things changed once the reality star had a son. Paula says, "But when you bring a child into the mix, you know you gotta start thinking differently."
