Rumors have been buzzing around about the all-new Ghostbusters movie that is in the works, as Paul Feig took to his Twitter account to confirm that he was writing the screenplay with Katie Dippold for the new flick. The movie, which is set to feature an all female cast, has been getting a lot of speculation as to what female comedians will be blasting ghosts and taking names.
Fieg wrote the following on his Twitter, saying, "It's official. I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @KatieDippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call."
But who is he really going to call when it comes to casting?
Two of the names that have been rumored to be in the running for roles are Mindy Kaling and Emma Stone. So are the two ladies game to suit up and take on the ectoplasm world?
Vulture magazine talked to the ladies while they attended the New Yorker Festival party over the weekend, and it seems like the funny girls were flattered by the offers but didn't confirm or deny anything.
"I love Paul, and I would never deign to take up his time by lobbying," Mindy told the magazine. "It's such an amazing movie, that the whole area of speculating on it is... I think it's out of my pay grade."
According to E! News, Mindy joked about starring in the film in her book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? back in 2011, alongside Emily Blunt, Taraji P. Henson and Natalie Portman.
Stone on the other hand, who was picked to star in the film by Bill Murray from the original movies, says, "That's very nice," joking that she "wants to see Bill Murray in a female Ghostbusters."
No news on other details about the film have yet to be released.
