A great new video update from Disney and Lucasfilm debuted this week, announcing the not so surprising casting of Warwick Davis in Star Wars: Episode VII. The actor appeared as an Ewok in Return of the Jedi, and has appeared in the prequel movies as well, so it's great to see him joining the cast of the J.J. Abrams film! With a release date set for December 2015, we still don't have an official title but we have a cast rounding out quite well.
In this great announcement video, Davis talks to the camera in a fun little skit about getting the role. Apparently he had to wait quite a while before Abrams called him to offer him a part, but he was definitely excited to join the cast.
Check out this video announcement right here:
Welcome back, Warwick! We can't wait to see you in the movie. Let us know what you think of this casting news in the comments section below!
Davis joins John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Gwendoline Christie, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the 2015 blockbuster from Disney.
Now we can add speculation about Davis' character to the already huge list of rumors and guesses that are mounting around this project. Will he portray another Ewok or do you think he'll play an entirely new character? All we know is that it's nice to see Disney share some great information in such a fun way!
