Musician and former member of The Police, Sting, made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night and the two revisited the glory days that belonged to the cellphone ringtone. In a segment that Jimmy cleverly called "Sting Tones," viewers got to see the singer bust out his own rendition of what some of our favorite ringtones would sound like if they were recorded by him.
"I wanna try something fun if you if you don't mind," the host asks in the clip, propositioning Sting for the game. "Everyone knows the classic cellphone ringtones but I thought it would be kind of cool if we hear you sing your version of them and call them Sting Tones."
The host then plays the musician some of the signature phone sounds including Marimba, Xylophone, and the classic Nokia tones.
Sting is so into the idea and actually thinks of turning it into a business venture.
"I could make a fortune off that," he tells the host, joking adding, "don't worry, I'll give you a cut."
The two then invite a member from the audience down to get the surprise of his life when Sting agrees to record a voicemail on the participants phone.
For the new outgoing message, Sting adds new lyrics to his song "Message in a bottle," and it as just as hilarious as you can imagine.
"Sorry I'm away, looks like you missed me oh, You just leave your name when you hear the beep oh. I hope that you will leave a, I hope you will leave a, message on my voicemail, yeah, message on my voicemail, yeah, yeah."
We are so jealous, where can we get one of these?
